Smart Cartons Change Color When Milk Spoils

These “smart” cartons will be on the shelves next year.

The world’s largest packaging giant, Tetra Pak, has created milk cartons that change color when left out of for too long.

The cartons will have an embedded chip that will provide information – such as how long a carton has been outside the fridge, indicate which cow on which farm produced the milk, and other processing and packaging information – on a scannable label.
