Scan Now Ship Later Goes Mainstream

We’ve seen a number of examples of scan-now buy-later retail around the world.

One of the earliest executions was on the subway platforms in South Korea but since then we’ve seen examples across Europe. The overall idea here is that people scan items on their way to work (or somewhere else) and the shopping gets shipped to their home later.

Last week we noticed a retailer advertising this service in suburban Philadelphia. The US retailer Giant is advertising their Peapod online shopping service on the train platforms
