Musk Turns Iron Man-Inspired Gesture-Controlled Rocket Designer into Reality

If anything, this latest announcement is proof that nothing is too far-fetched to come into existence.

Elon Musk recently tweeted that he’d “figured out how to design rocket parts just w[ith] hand movements,” and would be posting a video of the process over the next week or two.

While it seems like something out of science-fiction, it may come as surprise that Musk was inspired by the movie Iron Man. In the movie, Tony Stark is often seen designing new suits, and parts using nothing more than hand gestures – and a super advanced computer of course.

Jon Favreau – the director of Iron Man tweeted at Musk asking: “Like in Iron Man?” To which Musk responded: “Yup. We saw it in the movie and made it real. Good idea!”
