People are often shocked or surprised at the large web of trackers that appear
A new Firefox extension called Collusion allows users to visualize trackers as they browse the web. A lot of sites contain a form of a tracker that can follow and record your browsing habits. Most trackers are harmless, but some of them do collect your personal data and track your online behavior for advertising purposes. Collusion updates its chart in real-time so the more websites you visit, the more dots appear on the page to indicate that a tracker is following you.
I just tried collusion for less than 5 minutes – wow – disconcerting to those of us worried about the privacy implications of online tracking . . . IT
