New technology to clear landmines

The company says it can map the same area using the new system for around £100,000 and that the work can be completed in just an hour.

A small company near Wolverhampton has launched breakthrough technology which it claims could revolutionise the fight to clear land mines. It says thousands of lives could be saved and costs massively reduced.

Mineseeker Operations is releasing the first ever 3D images of suspected landmines buried in the ground.

The technology fuses ground penetrating radar and high resolution imaging to spot the landmines in the ground whether metal or plastic.
