The system costs a farm about $2,000
ELBOW LAKE, Minn. (KSAX) A Grant County man invented a rescue device helping people buried in grain bins, and it has already saved lives.
Dale Ekdahl invented the device after two people died in Grant County because they were buried under corn. In Minnesota, eight people have died in the past ten years.
More and more people have been dying, Ekdahl said. The survivability is very, very poor in that type of situation.
The ten panel system creates a barrier from the corn, allowing rescuers to dig out victims. Ekdahl taught an area grain bin company how to use the device May 23 at his new facility.
