Crowdsourced guides
Snapguide is a new iOS app and web service that allows people to create visual guides using videos, photos and words on a mobile device. The crowdsourced guides let anyone share their knowledge in a way that is easy to follow and they are published in a format that looks great on the web, tablets and phones.
Snapguide was created by former Yahoo engineer Daniel Raffel and Steve Krulewitz, who worked on the Google Chrome Web browser. Experts, hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts are invited to make step-by-step guides on what they are passionate about. There are hundreds of user-created how to guides on a wide variety of topics including cooking, gardening, crafts, repairs, DIY projects and fashion. Some of the guides currently available include “How to make beeswax and honey lipbalm,” “How to install a new hard drive in a Macbook Pro” and “How to make Irish soda bread.”
