Cordless Lamp Powered By Its Own Moving Parts & Gravity

Sophisticated reading light generates electricity using a mechanism similar to that in a grandfather clock.

Post Fossil has created the ‘First Light,’ a cordless reading lamp that doesn’t require electricity or solar energy to have it working. Instead, the standing lamp uses weight-driven mechanisms to generate power, similar to what is found in grandfather clocks. The lamp relies on gravity to turn a set of cogs and gears in order to work.
