Have a World Changing Idea? Scientific American is in search of science visionaries looking to build a cleaner, healthier, & safer future. For a chance to be published in an issue of Scientific American magazine & our website, record a 2-5 minute video of your world changing idea.

Scientific American is pleased to announce The World Changing Ideas Video contest, in partnership with SciVee. The contest is open to video entries about innovative ways to build a cleaner, healthier, safer world. The ideas represent a simple yet powerful vision of a better future. Some ideas may be in use now; others are emerging from the lab. For examples of World Changing Ideas, see “World Changing Ideas,” Scientific American; December 2009 – http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=world-changing-ideas.

We are seeking non-commercial videos of 2 – 5 minutes in the following categories:

  • Energy
  • Transportation
  • Environment
  • Electronics or Robotics
  • Healthcare or Medicine

Scientific American will judge the entries (and ask our readers to pick their favorites in each category), and announce the winners in early October, 2010. Videos will be judged on overall impact, scientific content, concept/originality, entertainment value, and production quality. Winning entries will be recognized, featured and promoted on the Scientific American web site.
