Germany-based company AOTERRA wants to not only provide cloud products but also heating systems to households.
The usual set up for cloud services is to keep multiple servers in a well-cooled place to keep them from overheating. AOTERRA’s business model is to do away with specialized data centers. That is, decentralize the servers and distribute them to residential homes that are in close proximity with each other.
The company’s AOHeat product is a heating system which involves placing cloud servers encased in fireproof safety cabinets inside households.
